Punjab Announces Mega School Sports Events

Punjab plans to organize large-scale sports competitions in schools from October to December as part
of a province-wide effort to promote student participation and identify sporting talent. Education
officials say sports committees have been formed across thousands of schools to coordinate activities.

Competitions are expected to progress through tehsil, district, division and provincial levels. The
government has also announced prize money at different stages and directed officials to provide
separate opportunities and rewards for male and female students.

The initiative is intended to move school sport beyond occasional annual events by creating a
structured pathway for talented students. Schools will need clear schedules, safe facilities, trained
supervision and transparent selection procedures. Students interested in participating should follow
notices from their own school and district education authorities, as event dates and disciplines may
vary by area.
