Pakistani School Girls Win Global Space Competition in China

An all-girls team from Lahore Grammar School 55 Main has won the Global Finals of the 2026 Global
Future Space Scholars’ Meet in Beijing, giving Pakistan the top position in an international schoollevel engineering and space competition.
The final brought together 260 students from nine countries. Participants worked in multinational
teams structured like virtual companies and were asked to develop, present and defend a spacerelated project proposal within a 24-hour challenge. The competition combines engineering, science,
business, design, communication and problem-solving.
Pakistan also recorded another strong finish through an LGS Phase 5 team, which placed among the
second runners-up. The results show how project-based STEM competitions can build technical
knowledge alongside teamwork and presentation skills. Schools seeking similar outcomes may benefit
from structured robotics, astronomy, engineering-design and science-club programs
