33 Pakistani Universities Enter US News Global Rankings

Thirty-three Pakistani universities have secured positions in the US News & World Report Best Global
Universities Rankings 2026-27. COMSATS University Islamabad is the highest-ranked Pakistani
institution at 410th globally, followed by Quaid-i-Azam University at 451st and the University of
Lahore at 479th.
The ranking assesses more than 2,250 universities across over 100 countries, with heavy emphasis on
research reputation, publications, citations and international research collaboration. This means the
table is primarily a research-performance ranking rather than a direct measure of teaching quality or
student experience.
Prospective students should therefore use rankings as one input among several. Program
accreditation, faculty strength, location, fees, scholarships, laboratories and graduate outcomes can be
