Punjab Makes New School Security App Mandatory
Punjab has directed all public and private schools to use the Educational Institutions Security Status
(EISS) mobile application and web portal. The system is intended to create a centralized database of
security arrangements at educational institutions across the province.
District education authorities have been told to ensure that school heads enter complete and current
information about required security measures. The platform was developed under directions from
the Punjab Home Department with technical support from the Punjab Information Technology Board.
The EISS system will also support a multi-level monitoring mechanism, beginning with school selfassessment. For parents and staff, the practical importance is that authorities can review security
compliance more consistently and identify gaps through a common digital system. Schools should
keep their records updated rather than treating the exercise as a one-time registration requirement.
